Engineer Olubusola Ogunbanwo is a proven, result-oriented and multi-dimensional energy professional who has served in various leadership positions in the energy industry as Board Director; Corporate leadership team member; Senior Executive in charge of Energy Asset Development and Production Management, and Corporate Supply Chain in top listed companies. He leverages extensive technical, operational; corporate governance experience and high integrity to achieve pace-setting corporate goals.
He joined Shell International in 1990 as a well site petroleum engineer and served in various roles in the Shell Group across continents in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and United States with recognized expertise in project management; reservoir studies, evaluation, simulation and forecasting; and hydrocarbon field development planning and implementation. He secured voluntary retirement in 2010 as a Principal Reservoir Engineer and Regional Forecasting Lead.
Olubusola joined Seplat Energy in 2010 as the pioneer Principal Reservoir Engineer and progressed to become the pioneer General Manager for Western Asset; Supply Chain; Member board of Directors Seplat Gas Ltd; and Member of the 9-man Seplat Group Leadership Team in 2016, until his retirement in 2020. He played leading role in the resourcing of key technical and leadership talents. He oversaw the Asset Development strategy formulation, planning and execution that grew the company’s production from 14000 in 2011 to 40000 bopd in 2014 and over 80000 boepd in 2016. This underpinned the dual listing of Seplat Energy on the Lagos and London stock exchanges in 2014. He directed the gas gathering, development and processing expansion projects that grew the commercialization of gas assets and secured Seplat’s place as Nigeria’s leading gas producer, processing more than one third of Nigeria’s gas by 2016.
He has attended several technical and leadership courses including the Harvard Business School’s Authentic Leaders Program, and the Senior Executive Program. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
